I got it at the end but for a good portion of the episode I thought that guy committing suicide and was blaming it on the other guy or the professor.

Can never understand these culprits that specifically go to the famous detective Mouri Kogoro who is renowned for always solving the case and expect not to be found out.

That's sad, they were right there and it happened. Wait his alibi is that he was gone cause he and his roomate were gonna murder a guy but the guy wasn't there so he went home and found his roomate murdered? I bet the guy who murdered his roomate was the same one they were planning to murder, and the old dog walker guy was the one who murdered him. Also Conan, Kogoro, and Ran all pretty much overlooked the fact this guy who came to them for help was almost a murderer himself. ...wow, he actually was a murderer. And he was also the old dog walker guy. Azusa looks so different from the screenshots I've seen from current episodes, the art style's changed quite a bit.
